Creating Value That Lasts Through Our Scrap Catalytic Converter Recycling Process
BR Metals is an industry-leading specialist in the recycling of Platinum Group Metals (PGM) and one of Asia’s largest processors of end-of-life scrap catalytic converters, an emission-control device found in both gasoline and diesel vehicles.
Why Recycle Your Precious Metal Scraps with BR Metals
At BR Metals, we go the extra mile to provide everything customers expect when working with a reliable recycling partner, including total transparency, professionalism and profitability right from the start.
We believe in building long-term, genuine relationships with our customers, and our customers’ success is our success. So when you partner with us, you can count on us to add a whole new level of value to your business with these competitive advantages:
We also have in place a rigorous standard operating procedure for our sampling process to ensure all catalytic converters, diesel particulate filters and other precious scrap are processed, sampled and analysed with the highest levels of care and transparency. As such, we encourage all our customers to visit our facility and witness the processing of their catalytic converters and other PGM scraps. The entire sampling process is fully documented and samples are also available for independent analysis upon request.
For value-based settlements, this is the phase where the quantity and value of Platinum, Palladium and Rhodium in the catalytic converter scrap is determined. Our analysis laboratories in Guangzhou and Singapore are equipped to provide precise PGM analysis that is key to transparent value assessment. Our teams of chemical specialists and technicians have both the professional expertise and hands-on knowledge to perform analysis of your catalytic converters and other precious metals scraps by both XRF and ICP-OES assay. In fact, we developed a proprietary Standard Based Function Point Analysis (FPA) method to determine the precious metals content using XRF technology with better cost efficiency and speed.
To ensure our assay methodology continues to meet the most stringent international standards, our chemists frequently participate in international Round Robin tests, where our assay results consistently match up to top refineries and internationally renowned analytic laboratories. This means you can depend on us to provide precise and reliable assay of your precious metal scraps with total peace of mind.
To minimise the risk from fluctuating precious metals prices, we offer hedging services to “lock in” prices of metals at the daily rates or sell these metals on a fixed date later on. With these hedges, you can better manage their cash flow and continue to increase your revenue stream by purchasing more materials.
Our dedicated precious metals management team is also on hand to provide timely market information and professional trading advice. When you work with us, we take ownership of your growth and success.

Types of Scrap Materials We Recycle
Spent Catalytic Converters
Catalytic converters are used in vehicles to reduce harmful emissions and pollutants in exhaust gas from internal combustion engines fuelled by either gasoline or diesel. They contain precious metals like Platinum, Palladium and Rhodium that BR Metals can be effectively recovered. We have the technical expertise and advanced equipment to efficiently process, sample and assay catalytic converter scraps while ensuring the best possible outcome from the recycling process
READ MOREPetrochemical Catalysts
Platinum catalysts are used in the manufacturing of ethanol and in refineries producing high-grade gasoline. Not only do we have the expertise and capability to process, sample and analyse these spent materials, we will also work closely with trusted partners with international environmental certifications to provide highly competitive returns for the recovery of precious metals.

ECU is a generic name for any embedded system that controls one or more of the electronic system or sub-systems in a motor vehicle. We recycle the semi-conductors and electrical driver in the ECUs to recover both base and precious metals.
E-scrap from IT equipment
Our new e-waste recycling business division collects end-of-life and obsolete
computer components including Integrated Circuit Boards, RAM, processor chips, etc.
Jewellery Scraps
We can process any type of jewellery scrap from the manufacturing process, repairs or old stocks to recover precious metals like gold, silver, platinum and rhodium. Expect the same fast turnaround, accurate assay and the gold-standard customer service that we are known for in the PGM recycling market.
