Frequently asked Question

Founded in 2009 to provide a sustainable and efficient alternative to deep-earth mining, the company now recovers 60,000 troy ounces of PGM annually from spent materials

Catalytic converters are valuable because they contain three different Platinum Group Metals (PGM) – platinum, palladium and rhodium. A standard converter with ceramic core typically has between 3 to 7 grams of platinum coating but the amount differs based on make and model, even from region to region. So how much your scrap catalytic converters are worth depends on a few factors: the market prices of PGM reclaimed from your catalytic converters at the time of settlement, the size of your converter lot and the type of converters.

We have an online catalogue that provides live prices for over 14,000 catalytic converters with detailed images, models, manufacturers, unique features and weights of monoliths. However, this catalogue is only available for our long-time customers at this moment.

As a general rule of thumb, high quality ceramic pieces have tiny compartment with even and radiant grey coating. On the other hand, ceramic pieces with low PGM content tend to be black and oily or pale and whitish with big holes.
